An Interesting Day!

This morning, I woke up at my usual time, fed the dogs, let them out then did my daily routine. Once I was done, I realised I had some free time and so I decided to go to the vet and get some dog food.

At the vet, there is this dachshund, a really sweet boy.  He is there because, his owner fell and hurt herself and cant care for him at the moment till she is well again.

Everytime I go there, I would go over to his kennel, to pat his head and talk to him for a wee while.  That poor thing must surely miss his owner and his home, so I try to make his life a little better by spending some time with him.

Then there is this cat, her name is Meow! hahaha...she is a real sweet cat....she is super friendly and is very dog-like.  She gave birth to 6 kittens today and I was there to see it all happen...Ive never seen a new born kitten before...They are so tiny and their face is so cute!  Like mini tigers...I helped the cat with her kittens...Dry and clean them up and put them in a warm place.  Kittens at this age are super sensitive. Newborn kittens are unable to regulate their body temperature & rely on mum to keep warm. The kitten's environment must be kept at a constant temperature to avoid either hypothermia or hyperthermia.

I was amazed to see the newborn kittens, they were so so tiny, half the size of a new born sheltie....

Once I got them all cleaned, they were placed in a comfortable box, where mum can walk in and out easily at the same time, the kitten stays warm and comfy inside.

I will take some pictures of them when they are older.

Its so hard to tell if they are male or female, its easier with puppies...

Ok, am off to feed the dogs and play with them in the garden.  Have a wonderful evening!

News from Mr Bear and Dande!

We all miss Mr Bear and when I checked my email, what a pleasant surprise!  News from both Mr Bear and Dande! I am sure everyone knows who Mr Bear is, but for the sake of those who dont know who Dande is, well she is the sheltie we rescued and she is now well and happy with her new owners.

Mr Bear lives with his owner and another tri colour sheltie.  His name is Lucky...  Mr Bear and Lucky get along great and was told Lucky really likes Mr Bear.

I also got a few pictures with the email and here they are.  They are not really clear but here they are anyway.

All grown...at 3 months plus..

Burmese cat?

I remember when I was very young, I was facinated with cats.....There used to be a few stray cats behind the house.  I would often go there to look for them and try and play with them.  But most of them were a bit 'wild'  I remember, I wanted one so bad I made my dad bring it to me and in the process my father had a few scratches on his hands.  I feel bad till today....

I also remember sneeking out through the back door to feed them my dinner, hahahah......I would pretend I had finished my dinner, and I usually give them the fish mum had made for us for dinner.

If a stray were to come near me while I eat at the food stall, I would often end up feeding them.  One time, I ordered fish and fed the cat and the owner of the food stall just shook his head, hahahah

I was facinated with cats first before I fell in love with dogs, but I never got a chance to care for a cat or to know what a cat was really like...

Recently, when I was at the vet, I came across a cat that was very dog-like and I really like it!  In the past I felt that cats were cold and not loving but it has changed ever since I met so many of them who were very dog-like.  Those are the kind I would love to have.

I was told that the Burmese are very loving and love to be with their humans, that sounds just like a dog! hahaha... great...that would be my next adventure.  To find that perfect cat.

When was in Scotland awhile back, I was caring for my friend's cats.  One was very gentle but the other one not very kind as he hated being groomed.  Everytime I groomed him, he would try to bite.  Perhaps he was not used to it and found it unpleasant.  Ever since then, I was bit terrified of cats.  But after meeting those dog-like cats, I feel great about them again.  For me, a sheltie is perfect, they are always loving, but for a cat, they would have to be the dog-like type to fit into my lifestyle.

So we will see.  I am off to visit that cat right now!  Have a wonderful day.

Shall we?

It has been a long time since I showed my dogs...maybe its time again??  It has been almost a year now...not because we didnt want to, but we had pups and shows are very long and tiring.  Sometimes we may have to travel for hours.  But the main reason I have not been showing is because I have to care for my pups and I wouldnt leave them with anyone else to care for them.  So, that is why we have not been showing.

For now,  there are no pups at home and we are ready to show again, but we will have to wait and see.  There is a show in September if I am not wrong and if we are not expecting any pups at that time then, yes we shall go...

I better start training again,  not sure if my knees can take it .....am getting old! hahahaha....

I remember the first time I showed Sunshine about 5 and a half years ago, oh my god......what an experience....I was nervous as hell....

Then it got better and better.  I will never forget the day King was awarded Best In Show.  Firstly we had to travel about 4 hours to get there, we left the house at 3.30am so you do the math and tell me how much sleep I got...I couldnt sleep actually, hahaha...

At the end of the day when we were in the line-up for Best In show, and the judge pointed at me and King.....I was so happy and probably didnt have any energy left to feel anything, hahahahah....but it was a fantastic day...

King was sleeping on my lap all the way home, I had a big smile on my face and slept in the car.  I will never forget that day.

Here is a picture of King at a show about a year ago.  Shall we do it again, King?

Time for a holiday?

Its been 3 days now since Mr Bear left to be with his new owner.  Its the first time in a long time that I only had to care for my adult doggies and thats pretty easy.  I have a little more time to myself and can do things when I am free.  Its also been a long time since we went on a holiday and I would really like to do that soon.

The thing that always stops me from going on a holiday is that I couldnt bear to leave my doggies behind.  I will definately worry and wont enjoy my holiday.  Of couse I would only leave them with someone that I trust 100 percent but I will still worry anyway....thats just me...

But, I think a holiday will do me some good and so I shall plan for one real soon.  I would like to go somewhere cooler...am thinking Scotland or New Zealand...Been to Scotland many times but not been to New Zealand...

My idea of a holiday is to do absolutely NOTHING.  Thats what I call a holiday....I just want to relax and do nothing and enjoy myself being somewhere nice and cool and quiet.

I miss loads of stuff from Scotland, like, Yum Yums (Glazed, twisted rope-shaped doughnuts ) Steak pie, just to name a few.

Went shopping yesterday and found this!!  Was very happy! hahaha...

I shall have it while watching Downton Abbey later tonight...

Ok back to the topic of going on a holiday....yes I will need to plan one soon....  Have any one of you been on a cruise ship for a holiday?  I have not, but been onboard The World for a tour and I must say it is the most spectacular thing I have ever seen!  This pic below was taken by me...I would love to go on a holiday one day with The World.

Bon Voyage Mr Bear

Mr Bear left for his new home today. His new home is about 456km away....About 7 hours and 23 minutes drive.  His new owner came to collect him today in the morning.  I woke up a little earlier than usual to get everything ready.

When his new owner arrived, Mr Bear was happy to see him and was very excited.  His new owner really adores him.  He loves Mr Bear's eyes.

Mr Bear is a happy and cheeky boy.  I will miss him but I know I will hear from him and get pictures from time to time.  The house feels a little different.  No pups, just the adults....well hopefully there will be some running about in a couple of months from now.

Before Mr Bear left,  his biggest fan came to visit him 3 times!!! hahahah.....

Mr Bear wont be alone, he will have another sheltie to play with....a tri colour boy...

The weather has been great....so am very pleased.  I went and got myself a small potted plant yesterday.  It is really pretty.  Here are some pictures taken before Mr Bear left for his new home.  Take care Mr Bear, be a good boy.....

Had to take this pic of his cute bum, hehehe

Video

Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of updates.  I have just been very busy......The weather is a lot better compared to what we had about a month ago.  It was so unbearable then but now, it is so much cooler.

I was spending some time with my dogs in the garden a few days ago and I wanted to take a video of them playing using my camera, however I had some problems uploading it.  Then I was messing with my ipad.  I hardly use my ipad and am not very good but manage to take an extremely short video of Mr Bear playing. Forgive me for the terrible quality of the recording....hahahha I promise to get better soon.

And so here it is, the extremely short video of Mr Bear!

Home Sweet Home

My doggies are home from their holiday and the house is complete again.  They are all happy to be home.  As soon as I went to pick them up and they heard my voice, they started calling for me.  I miss them very much and I am sure they all miss me too.  Apart from that, they miss home and their garden too.

When we got home, they ran and played happily.  I was very happy to see that and happy they are home.  The weather was good but abit gloomy for pictures but I took some anyway and here they are.  Mr Bear was happy to see Patrick home and the rest of them too of course.

King, glad to be home and just had his dinner and resting.  Yum Yum he says....
