Wonderful Sunday!

I've had a wonderful Sunday today.  First I went to visit my cousin's little kitten.  They found it a few days ago...Am very glad she will have a home and not be on the streets.  They named her Baby!  She is so adorable and its a perfect name for her.

We also visited Macy (Formerly called Baby) today.  It was really nice to see her again.  Its been exactly a week since she left to her new home.  She is so well cared for and loved by her owners.

Here are some pictures!

Baby

Baby went to her new home yesterday. She went to a lovely family who loves shelties very much. When she arrived, she checked out her new home and was happily walking around. I am sure she will be happy there as she will have a Schnauzer buddy to play with. I am sure Honey Bun will miss her but I am also sure we will meet often so they could play together again :)

Neutering /spaying your pet dog

Hello! Sorry for the pause. I've been busy and recovering from the fun I've been having over the weekend...hehehe

Today the topic would be about why should one neuter their pet dog.

Neutering prevents sexual health conditions such as testicular, prostatic or ovarian tumours. For females, it prevents the development of mammary tumours which can be fatal.

Neutering a female is very very important as unbred and unspayed females have high chances of developing a condition called pyometra (a uterine infection common in females) most people are unaware of this and lose their dogs to pyometra. Usually signs only show when it's about too late. So, if you have a female dog, pls spay them for their own good.

For males, castrating generally reduces aggression towards other males and reduce marking and mounting behavior and reduces straying.

If in doubt always speak to your trusted vet

Have a wonderful day.

Meet Ah Girl

Meet Ah Girl.  She is one of the friendliest stray Ive ever met.  One day, as I was driving out of my house, I saw her following the guard around and noticed she was limping.  At first I didnt know if she was friendly or not.  For days I observed her and finally went near her.  She was friendly.  So I knew I could help her because she wouldn't run away from me.  So, I begin feeding her daily so that she would trust me.  Then, I made an appointment with my vet to schedule her spaying.  She is almost ready to breed and we would't want more to suffer so spaying her is one of the kindest thing we could do for her.

So, we spayed her and vaccinated her and dewormed her.  After recovering from the surgery, we tried getting shelters to take her in but they were full and so we had to release her BUT she lives very near me, I feed her daily and fill her bowl with water every single day.  She is also very close to the guard in our neighbourhood which is wonderful and she gets shelter at the guard house.  Its not the most ideal situation but we do the best we can.

Most important of all, she is spayed, she is fed and she has shelter and love.  About her limp, there is nothing we could do for her because it was from and old injury but the vet says she is in no pain.

She is so loving and friendly.  If you like to give her a home, you may contact me.  My only hope and wish is that people who cant help these poor creatures, dont hurt them.

This is Ah Girl when we were just about to take her to the vet.  She now looks a lot better and her coat is nice and shiny from the good food she has been constantly eating daily.

Oh Dear, ANOTHER BIRD!

Over the past few years, my family would somehow find a bird that is injured or fallen from its nest but wont be able to care for it, so they know I would not say no, so here I am with yet ANOTHER bird.

They called me last night to say they found a bird near their car and the bird was covered with red ants.  At first they thought it was dead but realised it was still alive.  So they wrapped it up and brought it over to me.  I think it got injured or it fell from its nest.  The bird looked quite bad when it arrived.  It could not even sit up and I thought it was going to die.  I fed it and gave it some water and kept it in a warm place.  The next morning it was sitting up and looking much better!  I was so happy to see that.  Its not easy caring for a baby bird.  Feeding it is a real challenge but I know how to do it so its ok.

Now I need to get it strong and healthy and when it is ready to fly I will set it free.
Here is the bird, its a myna and looking a lot better from yesterday.
