Family reunion!
Hello!! Happy Chinese New Year! Cleo is here with us...She came to our home the day before yesterday and both Honey Bun and Baby are so happy to see her. They had so much fun playing together. What a reunion! Cleo is a lovely girl, she is Honey Bun's sister by the way. She is very well behaved, grass trained and very pleasant to care for. When she is with us, she knows the routine here and fit in very well. She is also very comfortable here. When she arrived, even before I could open the gate, it was as if she knew she was coming and was happy and excited to see her family again.
Here they are having so much fun.

My Favourite Things #2
Pet
Esthe Bath Salt. My favourite would be Camomile and Lavender. It
cleans and moisturize the coat, and the sweet, gentle, fruity camomile
scent soothes the feelings.

My Favourite things #1
I love this shampoo and conditioner. (Pet Esthe Shampoo and Conditioner) It is very gentle and mild and it leaves an extremely pleasant smell on the dog I love it and would not use anything else :)
As for the tooth foam,(Tropiclean Instant Fresh Foam) it keeps my dogs teeth clean and leaves a wonderful fresh smell. Absolutely love this too.

Harry
Remember Harry? The little kitty we found at the market? He is doing so well and have grown into a handsome young man. He also have a playmate now, a boy too and the both of them are about the same age.
His owner was very kind to send me pictures of him and here it is. I really miss Harry. He is truly a wonderful cat with a wonderful character. He is such a loving cat.

A Fun Day at the Shelter for Children
At Christmas, my cousins and I had a wee party for the kids at the shelter. We had planned earlier that we would all get together at Christmas and then we all thought why not get together and be with the kids at the shelter too! We brought them home cooked food, cakes and some presents. We had a great time with the kids and it was fun with games and all. Just talking to them was fun. I brought Baby with me and everyone loved her...they were so sweet and gentle towards her. When it was time for us to leave, one of the girls asked if I could come over again with the dog....and I didnt want to let them down and so I promised I will come back.
They also have a dog there but it belongs to someone else. They kept it there for the kids. They were complaining about the dog and how its fur isnt smooth and it is matted. So, I told them that they should brush the dog....they said WE DONT KNOW HOW...so ok my next trip will be about grooming.
So yesterday, it was time to visit them again as promised. This time I took Honey Bun with me...they all love her to bits too...So, they all gathered around me and I showed them how to brush and comb a dog. First on Honey Bun and then on their doggie. I also gave them a brush so they could comb their doggie.
I feel it is very important for kids to be around animals. It makes them better human beings and they grow up to be more compassionate...
After the fun we had, they made me promise to come back again!!! hahaha...they want to know more about dogs and the different breeds....So, I have to plan my next trip there again...I really dont mind...they are a lot of fun to be with.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Today 7 gorgeous shelties are celebrating their birthday. They are Cody, Cleo, Honey Bun, Sweetie Pie, Auggie, Atlas and Pixie. Its quite impossible to forget their birthday because we share the same birth date.
Last but not least, my little princess, Honey Bun...Happy birthday my dear girl. May you all be happy and healthy always....How time flies.. Honey Bun reminds me of her half sister, Eva...They both have their fathers lovely eyes...makes me melt. Honey Bun is very much like her father in some ways. She is very matured, very regal, very well behaved and just simply beautiful!

A Dog's mental health and choosing the right dog for you.
Good Morning! Today we are going to talk about how one should choose a dog. The most common mistake people make when choosing a dog / breed is based on their looks! That could be disastrous! Some people want a guard dog, but have no idea or the physical capacity to handle them. They think they just need to feed the dog and it will automatically guard the house! Most of them cage the dogs and let them out and night to guard. When asked why they cage the dog, they say its because he destroys things!!! Why would a dog do that??? How about let me lock the human up in a cage and let it out only at night! U will start to chew on yourself I assure you!
Some people are quite proud to say, that their dogs only live indoor! OMG if only the dog could talk! Would you like to stay in the house the whole day, the whole week and year? You will go mad too. NO big deal if your dog lives indoor or sleep on a bed made of gold! Dogs need to be out and see the world and yes of course we should shelter them from rain and sun but we cant deny them the freedom of being outside to see whats going on. Dogs are usually the happiest outdoor where they can run and play. No dogs want to be locked up.
If you are getting a dog for guarding, dont just leave everything to the maid or helper. You need to be involved. Ive seen so many guard dogs brought into the vet with maggot wound and the owner dont even know till they start to smell so bad! Thats because the owners are not involved in the dogs life and the helper dont know anything about dog care.
If you are getting a dog as a pet, firstly study the breed and its needs. If you are a lazy person, dont go and get a jack russell terrier!! Most people often think the dog is naughty when the dog is just being itself. Also when getting a dog, you must be prepared to invest time in training it, eg potty train etc. Some people lock the dog up in the toilet!!! sigh.
So study the breed, talk to people who have had such breed before deciding which will suit your lifestyle best. No dog is the same...they all have different level of energy. If we invest time in our pets, they truly grow up to be wonderful pets. If we neglect them you are only going to feel you have a pest. Ive seen owners who cant even cut their dogs nails or cant even control them at the vet...Why? Its all to do with training and conditioning your pet to things from a young age.
Dogs need to do things...or else they will go mad...you will to if you were in their shoes. So if you have a pet, please put in the time and effort they deserve....pets love routine...you cant feed them at 8am and then just because you had a late night you can feed them at 2pm! They also need exercise to drain their energy!!! Dogs become destructive when they are not exercised and have nothing to do...remember these three important things -
Exercise, discipline, and affection ..if you do that and IN that ORDER, you will have a balanced dog and you can enjoy him because it will be a wonderful pet.
There are no BAD dogs, only BAD OWNERS.
If you cant be consistant or cant afford to spend any time, its best you dont have a pet.
Male or female? Always a question there...people tend to think males are better...I feel they are equally good. A lot of people still dont know what spaying is. I had a very educated man call me and I told him the dog that he want is spayed, he said....huh? why did you SPRAY the dog??? Holy cow, god help me!
People think females are DIRTY, I really hate that word. Havent they heard of spaying? If you have a male dog its best you get it neutered too if you are planning to have more than one, because when they start marking you are not going to be very happy! Spaying for female that are meant for pet is very necessary because unbred and unspayed female tends to get cancer later in life and as usual, symptoms only when too late.
That's all for now. Have a wonderful day and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
